Producer Check-In

You’ll need to scan all the items when a producer delivers them to ensure that all orders have been fulfilled. This is also the time to inspect items for quality, especially items of produce which can be easily damaged by improper storage, etc: items not accepted by the food hub will need to be noted in this part of the software.
If you scan an item that isn’t included in the order, the scanner will make a negative alert noise. Check the label to see if the item is mislabeled. Return incorrect merchandise to the producer or follow your food hub’s best practices if you can’t return it (adding to the system for an onsite sale, etc).

Truant Items: These are items that the vendor was unable to bring but were not marked out-of-stock during the shopping cycle. These might be items they’ve forgotten to bring with them or items they didn’t realize they were out of until delivery day.
Rejected Items: Sometimes you may need to reject an item at producer check in. Things like produce that is heavily damaged or obviously spoiled, products with damaged packaging that affects the food safety of the items, items that are mis-labeled, cannot go to the customer. Mark these items as “rejected” and dispose of or compost them or give them back to the vendor according to your food-hub’s rules.
Take note of the items storage category (frozen, refrigerated, non refrigerated, etc) and store properly and according to your food hub’s best practices, until the items can be picked up.
