# Product Labels

All products that do not already have an official 12 digit UPC code must be labeled with the software-generated labels. If you need help with these, please contact us at <info@iowafood.coop>

To label:&#x20;

From the Producer Account tab, click the Web Order Labels button.

* **For Weighted Items**
  * Click the edit web order label weights link
  * You’ll be prompted to enter weights corresponding to your products sold
  * Once all weights are entered, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Save
  * From there, click Print Web Order Labels
  * If you need to further edit your weights, you may by clicking edit web order label weights
  * Your labels will be generated as a PDF; depending on your browser setting, the PDF will automatically open, or you’ll need to view it from your Downloads folder. Any items with a shopper note will print a label with the note attached. Please ensure this label gets attached to the correct product!&#x20;
* **For non-weighted items that DO NOT have UPC codes:**
  * Click the Web Order Labels button
  * Click the Print web order labels link
  * Your labels will be generated as a PDF; depending on your browser setting, the PDF will automatically open, or you’ll need to view it from your Downloads folder. Any items with a shopper note will print a label with the note attached. Please ensure this label gets attached to the correct product!&#x20;
* Fo**r non-weighted items WITH an existing UPC code:**
  * The 12 digit UPC code can be entered in any product within your catalog. You simply go to your catalog, locate the product, click edit within a gray variety box, and under the heading 'Variety Properties' there is a box to enter the 12 digit code. Don't forget to click SAVE at the bottom of that page before leaving.

Each item delivered must have a software-generated label. For labels that work best with our software, you can click the link for label specifications and purchasing sites. &#x20;

It is very important that the QR code does not become wrinkled or bent, please ensure that it is completely flat and smooth on the package. If your item is too small for the entire software-generated label, IFC staff will cut it and put on the product. To avoid inventory errors, please do not do this yourselves.

Labeling specifications are found on the Web Order Labels page; if your item is frozen, you’ll need to use the weatherproof/vinyl labels

If you have trouble getting a label to adhere to a product, please put the item in a plastic or paper bag and affix the label. See example (pictured on the right) of one way to label small items.&#x20;
